Sue Rienstra and her husband Dave supply a wide variety of tractor and equipment parts through Sue’s online business in Cavan.
Sue Rienstra’s experience in tractors and parts began at the age of 13 when she swept the floors at her family’s Massey Equipment Dealership in the Newcastle area.
By eighteen, she was helping customers, and remained in the family business, building her expertise in the industry until her parents retired.
In 2016, with more than twenty five years in the family business, Sue decided to go out on her own, establishing her business called All Tractor Parts. She set up shop in her new home on Syer Line built by her husband Dave who was a custom home builder. It didn’t take long for her business to take off, as she has an excellent reputation in the industry for supplying high quality parts for tractors, combines, implements and lawn and garden equipment. Her customer service is renowned: some of her customers call her in frustration, waiting for their dealer to respond to requests for parts and finding that she is able to provide an immediate answer and a quick solution to their problem. She is affectionately known locally as the Tractor Parts Lady.
She has a handful of parts in stock for common everyday requests but has invested heavily into her websites. The business operates two websites with more than 8,000 parts available, which are thorough, easy to access and to navigate. If customers are unable to locate the part they need on the website, Sue is ready to answer questions and help them find the right item the first time, guiding them through the entire process.
Since joining Sue in the business after his retirement, Dave has come to appreciate Sue’s depth of knowledge in the industry. Listening to her side of a conversation with a customer on the phone, it sometimes becomes clear that she knows more about the customer’s equipment than they do. She sometimes helps them identify the model by asking details about something quite visible and straightforward, such as if a plate is secured by two screws or three.
There is a daily flow of couriers picking up and delivering parts to their Syer Line location, but for customers further a field, transit times are reduced by using ware-house locations in Alberta and Quebec to shorten the delivery time.
With her depth and scope of knowledge and experience in the industry, Sue can anticipate the problems in many pieces of equipment and which brands are most/least reliable. Although she says she knows a lot about tractors, she admits she has never driven one. They have a small Kubota, a brand she says is extremely reliable.
The business deals worldwide except in the US, and is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm. For more information, visit www.alltractorparts.ca or call 1-877-255-7405.
