A happy confluence of factors led to Voyageur Canoe Company’s startup in Millbrook back in 1969.
Who were those individuals who made Millbrook the preferred location for this innovative new enterprise? What made Voyageur Canoe unique?
Our Historical Society is pleased to invite Voyageur’s Glenn Fallis back to take us through the evolution of his renowned company, weaving recollections from the 1950s and ‘60s in Millbrook into the story of fitting together all the right parts – personalities, skill-sets, infrastructure, and vision – to design and build a whole new class of canoe. Sharing his passion for canoeing and exploration by water, Glenn has led many a canoe trip and has taught more than a few locals how to navigate whitewater. From Ontario’s French River to the River Po in Italy, there are campfire stories to be told.
All are welcome to Glenn’s illustrated presentation on Thursday, November 27, 7:00pm, at the Legion Hall, 9 King Street West, Millbrook. There will be light refreshments and a cash bar. Admission free for members, by donation for guests.
