The community choir comes back together to sing on Mondays
from 7 to 9 pm at Centreville-Harmony Church on County Rd. 28 at Zion Line.

In the words of Ella Fitzgerald, “The only thing better than singing is more singing.

Community Choir members know from experience that singing is good for you: good for health and wellbeing; good for releasing anxiety; good for boosting positive energy; good for building a sense of community. And it’s fun!

After a summer break, the Millbrook Community Choir comes together again on Monday, September 8, 7:00 –9:00 pm. The choir, led by Mary Taves, with accompanist Alexia Preston, gathers at Centreville-Harmony Church, at the corner of County Road 28 and Zion Line (one concession south of the roundabout). There is lots of parking available on the northside of the corner.

New voices are welcome! It takes no time at all to find out why many of the members have enjoyed singing with the Community Choir over the years, and returned after the covid break. In its first year back, the choir attracted close to two dozen members, both new and returning, and put on two con-certs along with a number of “sing-outs” at long-term care homes and for Community Care.

Together, Mary and Alexia choose a variety of music to suit the balance of three and four part singing, and to offer opportunities for exploring new strengths. Practice tracks for every piece are emailed to choir members so that parts can be worked on individually between weekly practices.

Christmas may seem faraway right now, but the music is ready and waiting for singers. The choir’s ‘Tis the Season con-cert is set for Sunday, December 7th, 2 pm, at Centreville-Harmony Church. For information on the choir and membership fees, please email millbrookcommunitychoir@gmail.com.
