The CMLibraries said a sad farewell to Melanie as she moves on to other opportunities. She has promised to return to the Library as a volunteer to assist with our wonderful literacy program. Courtney, who started with us during the summer as a tutor, has been covering programming and will continue with us for the next while.
As we move to the next normal, we are excited to find out what kind of group in-person programs (family, children, adult) you would be interested in, that could be hosted through the CMLibraries. What would you like to learn, discuss, read…. writing, crafts, finance? Do you have a hidden (or not so hidden) talent that you would like to share through the Library – providing a demonstration or a workshop? Along with this, the Library is looking to coordinate with other organizations in the community so that we can work together, pool our resources and not duplicate what others are doing.
A survey is being launched with links on the Library website and Facebook page to collect your suggestions regarding programming. The survey will be live until March 15th.
March Break
The CMLibraries will have family activities each day of the March Break (March 15-18), some self-serve, others hosted by Courtney. The activities will be drop-in and will be available from 10am-1pm (except Tuesday). We will be following COVID protocols in place at the time.
Tuesday will see a selection of board games and puzzles set up around both branches. Drop by anytime during our open hours from 10am-7pm and play a game or add a piece to the puzzle. Maybe challenge Karla to a game of Crokinole at the Millbrook Branch. Wednesday, at the Millbrook Branch, will be an outdoor scavenger hunt (with an indoor option if the weather doesn’t cooperate). Thursday’s activity will be at the Bruce Johnston Branch – Courtney will have stories and crafts. Friday, back at the Millbrook Branch, join us for “indoor beach day”. Can’t go on that beach vacation, let us bring the sand to you.
Tuesday Toonie Movie
Return of the Tuesday Toonie Movie, again. The CMLibraries is trying the movie night again. Join us on Tuesday, April 5th for “King Richard” @6:30 – limiting seating to 16 guests.
Community Threads
We are hoping to have another in-person meeting of the Community Threads group. The date and time are still to be finalized.
As always, updates for all programs will be posted on our website, in our newsletter and on our social media channels.
