After the township cleared the ditch along Stewart Line, John Workman was inspired to create a gnome home from one of the stumps. Things evolved from there. He traded some tools for the mushroom castle and some houses, Nichole McGee added some ceramic gnomes. Some local children brought Smurf toys to inhabit the village, which serves as a backdrop for their imaginary adventures. It will soon draw attention from further afield when it becomes one of the five geocache locations on the street.
