In 1979, I moved into a brand new house. I was very excited to decorate it for Christmas. It would also be my first time cooking a turkey dinner on the twenty-fifth. At the store, I picked up a large, green, artificial Scotch pine tree and lots of decorations, enjoying loading the tree with all of these brand new items. I loaded the tree with strands of coloured min-lights, gold and silver tinsel, and lots of mini red bows, as well as different coloured balls. The front door received a big green wreath with a large red bow, while the coffee and dining room tables were adorned with floral arrangements. On the kitchen table were four placemats and a centrepiece in holiday colours.
When I was finished, I lit up the tree and sat down to appreciate the sight. Even the white and gold angel on the treetop sparkled, and the whole scene was spectacular. The special supper I prepared in my new kitchen was enjoyed by my family, topping of a memorable day for me.
Merry Christmas everyone and have a safe holiday season, from Cathy Bush.
