Parents, grandparents, children, teachers, principals and friends joined together early on May 14th to walk or run along Zion line in Cavan Monaghan for a short stroll or a 10K run in support of a good cause. Despite the cold drizzle, participants cheerfully lined up along the starting line to honour their commitment to the organizers of the event, members of the Centreville Presbyterian Church on County Road 28 north of Bailieboro. Half of the proceeds are directed to the Millbrook South Cavan Breakfast Program and the school’s Fun & Run Club, with the remainder supporting the church’s Mission Outreach.

With participant numbers slightly lower than usual due partly to poor weather, the rain did not dampen the spirits of those who showed up. Thirty five participants made their way through the rain to raise a total of $2300. Half of the proceeds will be donated to the breakfast programs at North Cavan and Millbrook South Cavan Public School, with the remaining used by Centreville Presbyterian Church to support their ongoing work. Thank you to all who walked, ran or sponsored a participant. KG
