The Millbrook & District Lions Club is hosting their PetValu Walk for Dog Guides on Sunday, May 27, 2018.  The Walk coincides with the National Walk with more than 200 different communities participating to mark the 32nd Anniversary of the Walk for Dog Guides.  Last year was their 8th event, and 22 walkers raised $5,090.00, bringing the total their club has donated to the program to $33,699.00 through the Lions Foundation of Canada.

The PetValu Walk for Dog Guides helps to provide essential funding needed for the Lions Foundation of Canada to train Dog Guides for Canadians with visual, hearing, medical or physical disabilities, people who have seizures or diabetes, and children with autism.  Each Dog Guide costs approximately $25,000.00 to train and match with a qualified applicant.  100% of the funds raised go directly toward raising, training and providing Dog Guides to Canadians at no cost.

Registration for this event commences at 9:30 a.m. in downtown Millbrook on King Street with the walk commencing at 10:00 a.m.  The walk, to raise funds for the Lions Foundation of Canada Guide Dogs, will take you through the Village of Millbrook or a nature walk on the Millbrook Valley Trails.  The club looks forward to another successful walk in support of this amazing program.
