This Month at Your Libraries

Storytime continues at 10 am on Thursdays at the Bruce Johnson branch and on Fridays at the Millbrook branch with Margaret Nielson-Roberts filling in for Lindsay Molloy for the next two months.   Whether your child can sit for 30 seconds or 30 minutes, everyone is welcome!

On Tuesday, November 7th at 6:30  the Toonie Tuesday Movie this month is the  “The Big Sick” which is based on the real life story of a relationship between a Pakistan-born aspiring comedian and a grad student who falls ill as they get to know each other.

Both libraries are open on Remembrance Day, Saturday, November 11th and will observe a minute of silence at 11am.

Back by popular demand is Erica Hernandez and the Music for Young Children program. The theme this visit is “giraffes”. Come sing, dance and make music during the regular Story Time at 10 am on Thursday November 16th at the Bruce Johnson branch and Friday, November 17th at the Millbrook branch.

Judi Obey returns to the library leading a workshop for all ages demonstrating a star weaving ornament on Tuesday, November 21st at 4pm at the Bruce Johnston Branch, Friday, November 24th at 3pm at the Millbrook Branch and again on Saturday, November 25th at 1pm in Millbrook.

Ever wondered about Makey-Makey or MicroBits? Come see them in action in a workshop called – iMake iMove – (imakeimove.ca).  On Saturday, November 25th Program Director Claudia Foung and her staff will bring technology and crafts to the Millbrook Branch for hands-on exploration where they will make technology and coding accessible. This workshop is suitable for participants aged six and above.
