Telling Local Tales

On the heels of a sometimes entertaining, always interesting conversation at our January gathering at the Manor, the Millbrook and Cavan Historical Society is looking forward to the annual Winter Tales ‘Round the Fireplace on Thursday, February 25. This annual gathering is a chance to share stories and photographs of days gone by in a relaxed, informal setting. For the past several years this event has proven to be a compelling evening full of surprises as the stories start to flow. The meeting is held in the Fireside Lounge on the ground floor of Centennial Place and begins at 7pm. All who are interested in telling or listening to recollections of days gone by are welcome to join us for tea, coffee and goodies.

Last month the Historical Society had the pleasure of being hosted at the Millbrook Manor for our annual afternoon tea. It was a fascinating and entertaining event, with many a memory kindled by questions from 4th Line Theatre’s Creative Director Robert Winslow. With permission, the Historical Society was able to make an audio recording of the story-telling to add to the archives.
