Strawberry season is coming. And strawberries are coming to the Millbrook Farmers’ Market on Sunday, June 26th. We will be hosting a special strawberry tea to celebrate.

As well as lots of fresh strawberries, our vendors will have all kinds of delicious strawberry treats for you, including a selection of strawberry teas, strawberry jams, strawberry ice cream and, of course, strawberry shortcake.

Our usual line-up of wonderful vendors will be on hand with a great smorgasbord of fresh veggies, meats, fish, baked goods, preserves, honey, maple syrup and prepared foods. You’ll also find a great selection of bedding plants, herbs and perennials.

We are thrilled to have violinist Brooke Stewart back with us this year. Brooke grew up in our township where her family still resides. She has performed orchestral works in Canada, Russia and Poland, and has recorded with numerous artists included Platinum Blonde. While you’re sipping your strawberry tea and indulging in strawberry shortcake, you can take in Brooke’s soothing strings. Kathie Lycett, from our local ReMax office on King Street, is generously sponsoring Brooke’s performance.

The children’s StoryTree reading this month, hosted by the Old Millbrook School Family Centre, will feature guest reader and local Township Councillor Jordan Landry. Bring the kids and meet under the tree at 11:00am.

The Millbrook Public Library’s book sale will run again during market hours – great reads at great prices. Donations are also welcomed.

If you haven’t yet made it out to the market this year, come and enjoy the strawberry festivities and meet our new vendors. The market runs monthly – the 4th Sunday of the month for the rest of this season. Hours are 10:00am to 1:30pm in the parking lot of the Old Millbrook School, 1 Dufferin Street, rain or shine.
