Spring Changes at the Pastry Peddler

Pastry peddlers (436x640)

With the arrival of spring, comes gardening, dining al fresco, Blue Jays’ games, soccer and….construction! At one of our local eateries, the Pastry Peddler, owners Deanna and Colin are ready to serve with their trademark dishes, exotic beverages and stylish environment. Open six days a week and offering freshly prepared entrees, baked goods and beverages, they also host monthly dinner events featuring local musical talent and a prix fix menu incorporating the best of locally sourced, seasonal products. This month, their “Spring into Jazz” evening event with Kirk Losell and Michael Monis providing the musical entertainment has almost sold out, and they have more monthly events like this planned for the summer, construction notwithstanding. They have been told by appreciative customers that a little dirt will not deter them from attending these popular events! Also for spring, to encourage afternoon customers to face the inevitable challenges of gaining entrance to their location during the King Street construction project, they are offering a construction special where they pay the tax on purchases from 3 pm to closing, excluding alcohol purchases and their special events. During this period, the spring menu will be available all day, but the regular dinners on Friday and Saturday evenings will be temporarily suspended in anticipation of reduced traffic in the village. To avoid the mess, customers can always enter through the back door.

Watch for new extended summer hours when the street is re-opened. In the meantime, the Peddler remains open for business, serving hot coffee, fresh pastries and delicious meals freshly prepared on site.
