Soccer Shoes for Belize

Sherry-Ann and Rob, co-owners of Coach’s Diner and Pizzeria in Bethany, are both sports nuts. Their diner is named Coach’s for good reason: they have decorated the interior with sports paraphernalia and consistent with that theme, the plastic moose head on the exterior wall represents hunting. They have added a pizzeria to their evening menu but at this time the diner area is closed.

They very kindly offered to host a drop-off center for anyone wanting to donate their soccer shoes to live a rewarding second career in Belize. These shoes will be brought to Belize by local volunteers and given to local children, free of charge. The shoes will be brought to St. Augustine Primary School which is located in a low income agricultural area. The area has few opportunities for parents to earn enough money to buy specialty equipment for their children. Most children were observed playing soccer in their bare feet.
