ORCA Opens Public Consultation for Conservation Lands

Otonabee Region Conservation Authority (ORCA) has embarked upon a program to develop management statements for all of its properties. The purpose of a conservation area management statement is to describe the long-term ownership, management objectives and associated stewardship activities for the property.

ORCA is currently developing a management statement for three of its properties; namely, Brookwood Wildlife Area, Squirrel Creek Conservation Area and the Warsaw Caves Conservation Area. All of the properties provide ecological services to support a healthy and resilient natural environment and also provide opportunities for outdoor recreation.

Members of the watershed community and other interested individuals are welcome to review and provide comments about the proposed conservation area management statements during the consultation period which closes March 17th.  For more information, visit www.otonabeeconservation.com. KG
