Motorcycles lined King Street on June 2nd preparing for the Legion’s annual Bike Ride.
Forty seven riders travelled to Bancroft for lunch at the Bancroft Legion and returned to a hot dinner prepared and donated by the Millbrook Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary. With a small top up from the coffers of the Legion, the event allowed the organization to donate $3000 to Wounded Warriors.
This charitable organization was established to honour and support Canada’s ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces members, Veterans, First Responders and their families. Many of their programs are now aimed at mental health initiatives, which they deliver through a variety of partnerships, incorporating sports activities, therapy animals and tools to support the transition to civilian life. They also provide scholarship opportunities for children. KG
