Pictured are Ray Lowery and his friend Carl Sargent running a team of hackney horses in this 1949 photo. Both men are lifetime members of the Millbrook Agricultural Society which is hosting its 168th Millbrook Fair this month. Some of the traditional horse shows including the Hackney Horse Show have been replaced by modern horse events like extreme cowboy and gymkhana horse competitions.
