Whether you’re a woman who has just retired or a young child just starting kindergarten, women of all ages are welcome to join Millbrook Christian Assembly as they host their First Annual Glam-ma Shabby Chic Tea event. The church is expecting a great turnout from many women in the community. Pattie McClean – one of the event coordinators says, ”I am looking forward to celebrating with our beautiful neighbourhood and beyond, the relationships between generations and honouring grandmothers for their unequivocal influence on family and faith!”

For the small price of $5.00 each, female family members and friends can enjoy a day filled with appreciation and celebration on Saturday May 28th at 12:30pm. Tickets will be available through local retail outlets as well as available at Millbrook Christian Assembly on King Street West in Millbrook. So you may ask, “Glam-ma… what does that mean?” According to Millbrook Christian Assembly, it is a noun that means “a woman whose child has had children but is far too young, gorgeous or glamorous to be called Grandma!” This special occasion with be featuring recent Master’s graduate Jess Nelder who will be speaking about the older generation of women in our lives, lessons we can learn from them, their foundational role for the next generation and its importance of pouring into younger ones. So grab your sisters, mothers, daughters, friends or grandmothers and come out, connect and join in the celebration of being a woman and of being of worth!

Glam-ma’s Shabby Chic Tea is one of the many events that Millbrook Christian Assembly offers. A great component to M.C.A is their women’s ministry that provides weekly Bible studies, women’s occasional out-trips and retreats and an upcoming all women marathon for those who want to participate and train in. The women’s ministry allows women to connect by growing together in faith, learning and fellowship.
