Right here at Millbrook South Cavan we had a Family Literacy Evening event. It was full of fun and excitement. The evening included author/illustrator Bill Slavin. His books were available for purchase including hardcover, softcover and board books. The evening included a “Read with your Child” workshop followed by Student and Author‘s Chair Café where you could sip on a hot cup of hot chocolate while listening to student’s writing pieces.
There was a light dinner for families who came that evening. The events were offered for parents to help them help their child/children on their reading and learning skills. The intermediate students from Millbrook looked after young children during the evening while parents were at the workshop.
