Lions present cheque for $5000

Lion president Bill Hughes presents a cheque for $5,000.00 to Lion Larry Franks of the Fowlers Corners Lions Club who has coordinated the Lions’ contribution to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre’s “Lions for Sight Campaign”. This Lions’ campaign was established to raise funds for the purchase a new cataract machine. Thirteen local clubs committed to raising $175,000 to purchase the new machine. By the summer, they had reached half of their target and received a matching grant from Lions Clubs International. The total raised now exceeds $200,000, and the extra money will be used to purchase a cataract surgical microscope to assist in post-surgery evaluation and as a training aid for the surgical team. The community thanks you for this significant contribution to our local hospital.
