Letter to the Editor #1

I would like to express my appreciation to the two staff who were working at the Home Hardware in Millbrook on Thurs Sept 22, 2016 at about 4:45 pm. My mom is a resident at Centennial Place and due to some significant memory issues, she relies on “routines” and uses her watch to ensure she sticks to her routines. The battery in her watch died while we were visiting. She was panicking and we made a quick trip to Home Hardware, praying that they might have a replacement battery. The staff didn’t have the proper tools to get the back off the watch, but improvised and were successful at taking the back off and determining the proper size battery. The new battery was installed and the back placed back on the watch. We returned to Centennial and gave Mom’s watch back to her. She was relieved and so were my husband and I. Crisis averted due these caring and conscientious staff!!
