Council approved the extension of the Corfe’s contract for the operation of the Cavan Monaghan Community Centre concession booth in the arena for another year after their current contract expired in March. Awarding the operating licensing for the canteen in the new community centre will follow the normal process. Rather than go through a normal Request for Proposal process for a single year, both sides agreed to extend the current contract by another year until the new Community Centre opens in 2019.
The couple is very community minded, and continue to be very generous with the proceeds of this operation through donations to local non-profit organizations including the local food share and prime arena user groups the Millbrook Figure Skating Club and Millbrook Minor Hockey Association.
Staff are pleased with how the couple manage their operations, which have always met the Health Unit standards, they are responsive to the demands of the arena in terms of their hours of operation, and are extremely popular with customers. KG
