Cavan Monaghan Volunteer Policing Committee Launches Social Media Sites

The Cavan Monaghan Volunteer Policing Committee is excited to announce the official launch of its social media sites.  The goal of the sites is to enhance communication between the volunteer policing committee and the members of the Cavan Monaghan community.

The volunteer policing committee was established as a way to enhance the relationship between policing and the community.  Committee members take on a number of roles in the community including traffic monitoring, assisting with special events and hosting presentations.

“Social media is another great way for committee members to interact with the community of Cavan Monaghan,” says Peterborough Police Service Constable Craig Ralph, liaison between the Service and the Committee.

“The committee is a great example of police and citizens working together toward the same goal of sustaining a healthy and vibrant community. The addition of the social media platforms gives the committee another way to engage with township residents.”

As a reminder, these social media sites are not monitored 24/7 and are not to be used as a tool to report crimes. In an emergency call 9-1-1 or in a non-emergency please call the Peterborough Police Service’s non-emergency line 705-876-1122. KG
