Blocks & Blooms Coming in June

It’s that monochrome time of the year when we long to see some colour around us, which makes planning this June’s Blocks & Blooms event so much fun!

It is refreshing and invigorating to visualize the variety of lush garden blooms, the green landscapes, and the splashes of quilted fabrics ornamenting the front porches of heritage properties.

Blocks & Blooms is a one-day event that invites the public to stroll into some of Millbrook’s beautiful residential gardens; to view and admire a kaleidoscope of quilts, both modern and traditional; and to focus on some of Millbrook’s architectural treasures.  A team with the Millbrook & Cavan Historical Society has been quietly at work for several months, inviting the participation of gardeners, property owners and expert partners.  The Millbrook Needlers’ Quilt Guild is teaming up with the Historical Society, as is the Downtown BIA, to guarantee that this will be a spectacular day for all.

The event will take place Saturday, June 23, 10 am-4 pm, and is a fundraiser for the Historical Society.   Tickets will go on sale in May.  Blocks & Blooms will be one of the featured topics at the Downtown BIA Breakfast on March 28 at the Millbrook Legion.
