It’s always a great weekend when we get the honour of hosting the Durham Junior Golf Tour Qualifier, and this past Victoria Day weekend was no different. For the first time in many years of hosting the qualifier, the weather was absolutely perfect for the Juniors. Ages of the kids ranged from 12 to 18 years old, as 87 of them tried to qualify for 50 spots on the Tour. Some nervous anticipation for first time qualifiers was evident while those returning with years of experience exuded a sense of calm, but for all it was certainly a memorable weekend. Those that qualified will play in 12 events over the course of the summer, competing in both one and two day tournaments. Points are awarded based on individual finishes in each event, and totalled at the end of the summer to determine this year’s Champion. It is a great opportunity for these kids to get the experience of competitive golf and play at so many great golf courses in the Peterborough, Northumberland and Durham area. We are a proud partner with the Durham Junior Golf Tour and we wish them another very successful season.
