Joanne Rowland Returns from Kenyan village

Joanne Rowland, in her words officially a senior citizen and still working on contract as a physiotherapist in the Emergency Department at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, has just returned from her annual visit to Ndanai in northwestern Kenya. This is the seventh year Joanne has travelled to Kenya as part of the organization ‘A Better World’. This month long trip took her away not only from work and family but from her weekly commitment every Thursday to help prepare and serve lunch at the Lighthouse Drop-In Centre based at St. John’s Anglican Church in Peterborough. She did make it back just in time for the annual dinner of Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan, with which she is also very active.
